Annie BuehnerkemperFounder and coach
[email protected]Annie is a wife of 11 years, mother of six, and a lifelong disciple of Jesus Christ. She met her husband Chris Buehnerkemper at Franciscan University of Steubenville, where she received a degree in Sacred Music with a focus in organ. They married and settled in Phoenix, Arizona.
Annie grew up in City of the Lord, a Catholic charismatic covenant community, where she received formation in living the faith, growing in a personal relationship with God, and sharing the Christian life with other Catholic families. Together, they sought to know, love, and serve God and become more of one heart, mind, and spirit in Christ. Her child's heart was inspired to pass on the gift that was given to her.
In middle school, Annie was introduced to the teachings of St. John Paul II by Katrina Zeno, the founding coordinator of the St. John Paul II Resource Center for Theology of the Body and Culture for the Diocese of Phoenix, Arizona. Annie developed a new perspective of herself, God, and others by incorporating his teachings. Her journey became oriented toward making "a sincere gift of self" which can draw one into deeper "union and communion with God, others, and self."
Throughout high school, college, and post-college, Annie participated in various forms of community. In places that lacked community, she worked at creating the space for it. She discovered a spirituality, theology, and methodology behind building and living in community which grew from the seeds planted in her through her experiences in City of the Lord, household life at Franciscan University, and the teachings of St. John Paul II.
In December 2024, Annie was inspired to develop Our Spiritual Family Ministries in order to share her adaptation of St. John Paul II's "Spirituality of Communion." Annie is blessed by a wonderful team called to join her in this mission. Annie delights in walking with others in their unique circumstances, collaborating and building for the Kingdom, and sharing tools and resources. Our Spiritual Family Ministries team hopes that others can experience the depths of God's love for them through the gift of community.
