Sin has broken us from the way God intended us to live: union with God, communion with the saints, and wholeness of our person. The way back to unity is through our espousal to Jesus. When Jesus died on the cross, he married the Church to himself. We are personally joined to Jesus through the blood of the covenant and the grace of the sacraments. Our journey toward the eternal union is made possible by our spiritual espousal with Jesus, who lives in us. He walks us through the milestones—doorways of brokenness and reconciliation, fitting to each soul—providing the strength and grace we need to become one in his Divine love and peace.
